12th of June four FEMEN activists who are imprisoned in Tunisia will face the trial by Sharia Law. They are prosecuted because they have done the protest against the islamisation of the countries of Arab spring and for women’s freedom. Young women are threatened to stay in jail for 6 years(for Amina), 1-2 years(for Josephine, Pauline and Marguerite).

BASF (IW 1000/33), the world’s biggest chemicals company, said Tuesday it has decided to no longer seek European approval of its genetically modified potato products in the face of stiff resistance.
BASF said in a statement it will “discontinue the pursuit of regulatory approvals for the Fortuna, Amadea, and Modena potato projects in Europe because continued investment cannot be justified due to uncertainty in the regulatory environment and threats of field destructions.” View full article »

Standoff at Bankia
Dear people,…. After Bankia’s refusal to negotiate, the campers took action. At one o’ clock in the afternoon they occupied the Bankia franchise in Alcalà 1, at the corner of Puerta del Sol.
Police went in after them and sealed off the entrance against sympathisers and press who assembled outside.
The occupiers demanded an end to the evictions, and the right to for those at risk of eviction to stay in their houses, paying a social rent. View full article »
this directive has been pushed through by women members who promised to actively promote it into local laws within 3 years.. Meanwhile in Ukraine the new law for up to 5 yrs jail for being gay has passed its first stage.
Today the European Parliament agreed on a new Directive on the rights guaranteed to victims of crime in the EU. Notably, it provides specific assistance and protection to people who suffered crime because of their sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.
The Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing minimum standards on the rights, support and protection of victims of crime now says victims should receive appropriate assistance and protection. View full article »
