EU Parliament decides to cancel bullfighting subsidies, BUT Malaga Council gives 450K euros to Bullfight School

The banning of Bullfighting will be strongly opposed by the toxic far right macho movement in Spain and become a another rallying cry against the fragile left and center government. The ”Sport” was already banned in Catalonia but the ban was overturned, along with all progressive laws, by the Supreme Court still controlled by the right wing oligarchy.

Finally, an important blow was made against the bullfighting lobby!.

BUT … 480.000 euros voted to a Bullfighting School in Malaga while Europe bans subsidies to Bullfighting.. read in ENGLISH below this article

In the context of the EU agricultural reform (which is not a reform at all) the animal rights activists prevailed and achieved a narrow majority for the cancellation of the bullfighting subsidies!

This is a sensation because up to now there has been a majority in favor of maintaining all attempts to stop these EU subsidies.

Leading Spanish politicians are family members themselves with bullfighting breeders.

Spanish State forces Bullfighting on Catalans

The amendment was approved by 335 votes in favor, 297 against, and 60 abstentions, thanks mainly to the European left.

With 335 to 297 votes, the EU parliamentarians have now for the first time in the history of Europe effectively decided against this animal cruelty, which in some countries has even been celebrated.

But the image of bullfighting has deteriorated over the past few years thanks to the efforts of tens of thousands of animal rights activists and the public’s pity for the bulls has steadily increased.

Anja Hazekamp from the Dutch Animal Welfare Party fought against bullfighting for years together with the Spanish Animal Welfare Party. This time, Francisco Guerreiro, who was elected to the European Parliament for the Portuguese Animal Welfare Party, tried it – and it worked!

At least for now, because the topic is not yet through. The Spanish government is expected to do everything possible to circumvent this decision.

And the bullfighters association has already announced that it will file a lawsuit against it.

Hopefully, in the end, morality and common sense will prevail in Europe!

Bullfighting: Neither Art nor Culture

And I mean…For the first time, we get a positive surprise from the EU front!
Parliament has noticed that it is backward when animals continue to be tortured for fun in the 21st century and that this is also financed with public money.
With this cruelty to animals, Spain brings up the rear in Europe when it comes to animal welfare.

We are proud and grateful to Anja Hazekamp and her fighters from the Animal Welfare Party of Holland, and thanks to the Spanish Animal Welfare Party and of course to Francisco Guerreiro from the Animal Welfare Party of Portugal.
We get confirmation that if we unite we can achieve something.

Bullfights like in Spain will not last long for animal welfare reasons.

Corrupt Court cancels Ban on Bullfighting in Catalonia

Public Killing and Torturing bulls will be legalised again in Catalunya by order of the central government. This is the latest of a series of blatantly anti Catalan orders by the Spanish Constitutional and Supreme  Courts.

The Courts are politically controlled and have always supported dubious, self serving and even openly fascist proposals instigated by the far right 1% and the Catholic Church. The ban on bullfighting in Catalonia is seen as a traitorous way of asserting that ‘Catalonia is not Spain’.

Bullfighting is defined (by them) as “common cultural heritage” of Spain and can not be vetoed by a regional law, says the court, due to a clause in the Constitution which gives cultural heritage to the Central Government.

Bullfighting is the cultural heritage of the Conquest, in Spain it represents the exaltation of torture and legitimation of authoritarian male abuse and violence.

The men bring their children to train them in enjoying killing. Public animal torture celebrates the rights of men to subject nature, oppress the weaker, and is strongly linked to the corrupt and depraved imperialist and depraved genocidal mentality of the historical Spanish ruling class, inherited by Latin American oligarchies..

/continued from above

The corrida is not just a spectacle, but archaic cruelty to animals, the corrida is death.

And a spectacle that drains the cultural reputation of an entire country into the mud.

My best regards to all, Venus

480,000 euros given to a bullfighting school in Malaga while Europe rejects subsidies for bullfighting

PP and Cs approve a budget of 480,000 euros for a bullfighting school

The Malaga Provincial Council, governed by the PP and Cs, has approved the technical award specifications for the award of the Provincial Bullfighting School, with a basic bidding budget of 480,000 euros, VAT included, for “the training of bullfighting professionals and knowledge from the bullfighting festival to the students ”, according to La Voz del Sur.

The students will receive a class from a bullfighter and “must have a minimum of three years’ experience as a teacher” and the practices will be held during the La Malagueta International Bullfighting Schools Contest, as well as in four municipalities of the province, as indicated the middle.

Bullfighting is popular on fascist demonstrations

Pro-bullfighting banners are ubiquitous on fascist demonstrations

This news is striking, already questionable for calling a place where they teach how to make animals suffer a “school”, because the European Parliament has approved an amendment to eliminate subsidies for bullfighting in the Common Agricultural Policy (PAC ).

The approved amendment reads, specifically, the following: “From the payments coupled to production, head of cattle whose final destination is sale for activities related to bullfighting, either directly or through intermediaries, will be excluded.”

Support for this amendment took place within the framework of the vote in which the European Parliament set its position to negotiate the CAP with the Member States.
