On June 29 the last hearing was held of the trial against Konstantina Athanasopoulou, Giannis Michailidis and Dimitra Valavani, the comrades arrested on January 29, 2020 in Agia Paraskevi (Athens metropolitan area). The sentences are as follows:
— Giannis Michailidis: 26 years (merged into 20).
— Konstantina Athanasopoulou: 2 years and 6 months.
— Dimitra Valavani: 2 years and 6 months.

Giannis Michailidis and Konstantina Athanasopoulou remain in prison.
Prior to the arrest in January 2020, comrade Konstantina Athanasopoulou was at large. She was arrested on January 5, 2017 in the context of a repressive operation against the organisation Revolutionary Struggle (Επαναστατικού Αγώνα, Epanastatikòs Agonas, EA), in which comrade Pola Roupa was also arrested.
Following the arrest, she claimed her participation in EA. After being released on bail, in 2019 she was sentenced in absentia to 35 years and 6 months in prison in one of the trials against the organisation. She is currently accused in the appeal proceeding of the trial in which are also defendants Nikos Maziotis and Pola Roupa, members of EA.
Giannis Michailidis had escaped from Tyrintha rural prison in June 2019. n Agia Paraskevi (Athens metropolitan area). The sentences are as follows: Arrested in February 2013 together with three other anarchists for the double armed robbery that took place in Velventos (Kozani region), at the end of the trial he was sentenced to 16 years and 4 months in prison.

He remained free until January 29, 2020
He escaped from the so-called rural prison of Tyrintha (Tiryns), in the Peloponnese. He was arrested on 1 February 2013 following the double robbery that took place in Velventos  (Kozani region, in Greece), along with the anarchists Nikos Romanos, Dimitris Politis and Andreas-Dimitris Bourzoukos .
Before our comrade escaped he was serving a sentence of 16 years and 4 months, a sentence imposed following the trial for the Velventos robbery. Furthermore, in 2015 he was sentenced to 15 years for charges linked to an attack on the police on May 18, 2011, in Pefki, during a police check (two policemen were wounded and the anarchist Theofilos Mavropoulos was arrested, wounded as well).
Giannis is also known as “the archer of Syntagma” since he was arrested for attacking the riot police that protected the Greek parliament in Syntagma Square (Athens) with a bow and arrow in February 2011, in the clashes during a General Strike,
When re/arrested Giannis made a statement ( see.. Anarchist Giannis Michailidis, recaptured fugitive, on the upcoming trial on May 31) declaring that Konstantina and Dimitra had no connection with robberies and material found in his car.
