Thirty Seconds To Midnight – The Final Wake Up Call??

more mega-doom from  from celebrated lefties.. only unfortunately they’re quite right

armageddonImage by Ben Salter with thanks

from… Dandelion Salad ..Filmmaker Regis Tremblay states what few others dare to say. Humanity is on the brink of extinction! Nuclear power is not safe. 48 of America’s nuclear power plants are leaking and there is no way to get rid of nuclear waste.

America’s reckless provocations of both Russia and China, two nuclear-armed countries, risk a nuclear holocaust from which no one survives. Climate change and global warming, if not mitigated immediately, will end the human experiment on earth sooner rather than later.

A shocking documentary that traces the origins of U.S. genocides, military interventions and wars from the 15th century when the white, colonial explorers first came to the Americas to the very present. American Exceptionalism, Manifest Destiny, and the right to claim the earth and its resources as their own are the beliefs that are the foundation of American foreign policy in the 21st Century that has humanity on the brink of extinction. Another  indigenous leader has been shot dead

Yoryanis Isabel Bernal Varela, 43, was a leader of the Wiwa tribe and a campaigner for both indigenous and women’s rights.

The Wiwa are one of four tribes that live on the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, a unique pyramid-shaped mountain in northern Colombia. The Sierra Nevada Indians believe it is their responsibility to maintain the balance of the universe.1_intro_missing-justice-web-slider-417fa

Bernal Varela is the latest victim in a long line of attacks against Sierra Nevada leaders, who have been at the forefront of the indigenous movement in South America. Many Indians have been killed by drug gangs, left-wing guerrillas and the army.

In November 2012 Rogelio Mejía, the leader of one of the other Sierra Nevada tribes, the Arhuaco, narrowly escaped an assassination attempt.

José Gregorio Rodríguez, secretary of the Wiwa Golkuche organization, stated: “Indigenous people are being threatened and intimidated. Today they murdered our comrade and violated our rights. Our other leaders must be protected.”

The problem is not limited to Colombia. Indigenous activists throughout Latin America are being murdered for campaigning against the theft of their lands and resources. The murderers are seldom brought to justice.colombia-indigenas-do-norte-do-cauca

In January, Mexican Tarahumara indigenous leader Isidro Ballenero López was killed. In 2005 he had received the prestigious Goldman prize for his fight against illegal deforestation.

DEFEND La Chispa CSO.. LAW made for the RICH .. SOLIDARITY for the REBELS

la-chispa

main report by by Sergi Bertran and Sonia Perez at La Directa.  … translated summary by The Free  ..en català abaix

….We are on the outskirts of Lleida city (in Lleida province). This area has undergone a major change in recent years… where there were small family orchards and country houses today they have built fast food chains, department stores, hotels and luxury villas. The companies and new owners of the land have been moving out the locals, buying up their land at high prices…

After a lengthy legal process  against four ex-occupiers the vibrant, active, self-managed SPARK project among the orchards of Lleida is condemned to be evicted  by capitalist speculation.  ”The Court Sentence against La Chispa condemns the people judged to  3 months / fine at the rate of 5 euros a day. The ruling also agreed to the eviction of all persons who are in the CSO Chispa and that the speculative company (UA sl) be reimbursed for ‘damage to property’. We want to make clear that this house. if not for for being squatted for nine years, would have already collapsed due to the state of abandonment; and that the only intention is to demolish the house to speculate on the price of the ground”.  REPORT FROM KAN BICI (GALLINERS)

Precarity: Lack of resources and sufficient financial means, poverty and misery
Precarious: lacking resources and sufficient financial means:

A civilian judgment which demands an “eviction due to precarity” is nothing less than the

frontal attack of the bourgeoisie against the poor, by the powerful against people who lack
sufficient economic resources to pay a rent and also lack properties. (note: the landlord of Kan Bici has at least 40!

)squatDwoild

The judicial apparatus, the repressive forces and the press are the tools of the rich
to perpetuate their power everywhere. Almost all the properties are in their hands,
they own banks, commercial centers, businesses, shops, houses and land etc…occupy

…And we, who are squatting houses they have abandoned, we are in the target point of the
bourgeoisie, they denounce and if necessary they kick our asses out in the fuckin’ street-
through their mercenary riot cops. Continue reading Kan Bici rural squat center still Survives… just

GIRLS RUN WORLD: A REPORT BACK FROM LOS ANGELES

Submitted to It’s Going Down……   LOOK, Los Angeles is getting a lot of attention for the 750,000 participants of the Women’s March. In all the reports there is not one mention that, for the last two days, breakaway marches have stormed DTLA. LA often gets passed over in report-backs that list things like these anti-Trump protests because politics here tend to be very localized and are not necessarily in a coded political framework. But folks in LA are lit and deeply tuned into the way speculative capital is destroying our city.

#DAYONE

The first day was a march against the parade of nonprofits: forty organizations working together, from Code Pink to Union del Barrio to ANSWER. Though they gave many speeches their words rang hollow on a crowd that had heard it all before. It became obvious that the crowd wanted to have a march that was not in collaboration with the cops or the state. Some rowdy kids––queer, trans, black, brown, and white––grabbed the megaphone and announced that we should march. And so we did.
