The occupied self run center in the Palace of the Marquis of Rozalejo of Pamplona, ​​20 yrs abandoned and occupied eleven months before,  was violently evicted in the middle of the night by the Navarra Govt despite widespread local support. see videos..

Then 2 days later it was resquatted by the same collective who prepared to resist again ‘tooth and nail’.

The Assembly of ‘Gaztetxe Maravillas’, strongly anarcha feminist, demanded that the Government of Navarre «paralyze the eviction process» of the building and «withdraw the complaint against the accused persons» .

The festive march last Saturday was supported by many collectives and local people. Thousands of people have joined the protest led by a banner reading «Wonders Herriantzat» (Wonders for the People) and a second slogan that «is not a gaztetxe, but a way to understand the world» .

Maravillas is the center of a ‘Pamplona Spring’ with all kinds of creative activities taking off. The organisation is assembly  based without leaders.

Court orders Monsanto to pay $289m in damages over herbicide cancer case

Chemical giant Monsanto has been ordered to pay $289 million in damages to a man who proved herbicides containing glyphosate had caused his cancer, reports BBC.

In a landmark case, a US jury found that Monsanto knew its Roundup and RangerPro weedkillers were dangerous and failed to warn consumers.

It is the first lawsuit to go to trial alleging a glyphosate link to cancer. The claimant in the case, groundskeeper DeWayne Johnson, is among more than 5,000 similar plaintiffs across the US.

But Monsanto still denies the danger despite the World Health  »probably carcinogenic» ruling and recent studies showing Hodgkin’s cancers are cause by glyphosate.

In addition the additives (adjuvants)  of Roundup and RangerPro, are still mostly secret under patent,  and new studies show them to be much more carcinogenic than the Glyphosate main ingredient which Monsanto limits itself to defending in Court .

La semana pasada, (26 abril) tuve el placer de asistir a la primera parte de un curso de un año de Practical Ethnobotany and Plant Identification Práctica Etnobotánica e Identificación de Plantas con la Escuela Woodcraft.

Debo admitir que estaba muy nervioso. Mi salud impredecible y mi dolor crónico son una gran barrera para el aprendizaje y me llevo a sentir como un verdadero misterio. A pesar de que estaba completamente destrozado el tercer día, los días que pasé aprendiendo en el bosque fueron increíbles.

La primera parte de la mañana cubrió los aspectos prácticos inevitables y cómo se estructura el curso, así como las expectativas para las evaluaciones. La etnobotánica consiste en aprender sobre los usos de las plantas y los árboles. Esto incluye sus usos comestibles, médicos y artesanales, así como el folclore y la relación histórica que los humanos tienen con las plantas. ¡Me fascina por completo!Luego nos sumergimos directamente en aprender sobre los usos de la corteza de árbol. John Ryder, el maestro principal, es un leñador experimentado. Él compartió con nosotros sus experimentos con árboles nativos y cuáles tienen corteza suficientemente maleable. Describió cómo, en un clima británico, la corteza de abedul tan comúnmente utilizada en Escandinavia no siempre es lo suficientemente espesa.

New space liberated – The Self-managed Occupied Gym.. La Salud

On Sunday May 27, after a week of occupation, we opened the doors of the new Self-managed Occupied Gymnasium.

The Occupied Health Gym «La Salud» is an old gymnasium in the neighborhood of La Salut de Gràcia, which has been abandoned for the last 5 years. We want it to be an open space in the neighborhood, which will allow us to strengthen the ties of our community. We want the neighbors to feel free to enter, participating in scheduled activities or proposing new ones.

We live in our neighborhoods besieged by speculation, gentrification and capitalism, which every day leaves us without a house, without spaces, without the possibility of carrying out a dignified life.

Spain: A Insumisa social centre evicted

World, May 26th

Last Wednesday, the municipal police have evicted the A Insumisa social centre in Galician city A Coruña. The space originally belonged to the Ministry of Defense until, after more than 15 years of abandonment, it was ceded to the city council. In November 2016, it was reclaimed by residents of A Coruña and since then it has been carrying out a range of social and cultural activities organized through open assemblies.

After it was occupied and set up as a social centre, the city council came up with their own proposal to turn the space to a cultural project similar to the one already set up by the citizens: except that it was to be managed by the council. The council’s proposal was rejected by the local residents and participants of A Insumisa, who defended the local self-managed project that already worked well without the intervention of the town hall and without public funding. After this defeat, the city council initiated the eviction process, which was finalised last Wednesday.

On Wednesday morning, fifteen hours after the deadline for the eviction, the local police turned up at the door, and were met with locals gathered outside to defend the space. During the eviction there have been police charges that have resulted in several people being injured, some with blows to the head. The police also used tear gas.

Two women climbed the roof of the Insumisa and resisted police attempts to take them down while the solidarity gathering remained at the doors.

Freedom Exclusive: 1,312 Undercover Anarchists Discovered in Metropolitan Police

Freedom News  Apr 1st      Last week the Undercover Policing Inquiry revealed that, since at least the 1970s, anarchists have been infiltrating London Metropolitan Police.

An estimated 1,312 undercover anarchists were discovered within the Met’s ranks so far, with some still active. AFed, SolFed, Freedom Collective and The Wombles refused to disclose the names of infiltrators, instead providing the Inquiry with their numbers: ranging from ACAB0001 to ACAB1312.

They have also refused to say how many are still active, or what is the purpose of the undercover operation.

One member of Freedom Collective, who prefers to remain anonymous, said: »We will be issuing a statement at some point, but first we need to have a number of very long meetings and argue on Libcom.

I guess we better start doing more illegal raves in order to gather funds we will likely need if the Met choses to take legal action against us. Also, for the record, there is no leader of this operation: it was purely self-organized».

 Since this morning, the state has done everything possible to break this huge surge of solidarity: there are road blocks and checkpoints everywhere; police checkpoint policeman at the exit lanes of the motorways, asking drivers not to to try to go to the solidarity gathering.
