6th DEC. last Update..  unfortunately we were right. Cateel was devastated with at least 28 dead, hopefully the report/warning below, which came out 1 day before and was read by over 3000 people on the net, helped some people escape to safety.

»Davao Oriental Governor Corazon Malanyaon  said initial reports indicated that in one town, Cateel, 95% of the buildings had been damaged. Twenty-three people had drowned or were buried under fallen trees or buildings there, she said…..» The massacre toll has risen to at least 500 with more than 400 others reported missing and about quarter of a million people made homeless. At least three cities on Mindanao’s east coast remain cut off after bridges collapsed and roads were swept away by floodwater. The sheer numbers of refugees have overwhelmed the Philippine disaster agencies prompting  government to call for international aid to help cope with the mega disaster. The death toll is expected to continue rising.

This fishing village is one of many in line for a direct hit from Bopha's 275kph winds tomorrow. Photo from Google Earth today 3/12/2012 . Notice the houses on waterfront! Google doesn't name the village , its near Boston, beside Cateel, Bayan ng Cateel, Mindanao, and not far from Lligan city, which was devastated last yearSuper-typhoons can only form over 30C water.. Climate Change is directly to blame. Climate Criminals of the Oil Companies sit back in total luxury while their victims in Cateel Bay face annihalation. As they become more common, climate related disasters may allow prosecution of the big Oil Companies, as they could be sued for billions for dumping CO2 in the air for profit, with clean alternatives available.

Sandy wasn’t the last..Support the poor people of southern Phillipines as a monster storm bears down on them

So far this year several super typhoons have formed but stayed away from land. Bopha is different. Due partly to climate change the sea is still very hot, allowing the storm to become gigantic………

Super-Typhoon BOPHA is heading straight for the Philippine Islands as a category 4C

storm with sustained winds of about 238kmh and

gusts of up to 275kmh [FEWW estimate is based on several models] at about 02:00UCT on December4, 2012.

BOPHA could kill many innocent people and cause total damage to property and infrastructure in the coastal areas, with potential for flooding and landslides further inland.   Storm surges of up to 10m could swamp the shoreline areas.

MANILA, Philippines— The weather disturbance approaching the Philippines will probably become a

supertyphoon, much stronger than last year’s Tropical Storm Sendong which ravaged the cities of Cagayan de Oro and Iligan, and is eerily moving in the same direction, Pagasa Administrator Nathaniel Servando said Saturday.

Super Typhoon Bhopa is forecast to be stronger than last year's Sendong. Tropical storm “Sendong” (international code Washi) was the most destructive cyclone to hit the Philippines this year in terms of human lives lost that could reach over 2,000.

Super Typhoon Bhopa is forecast to be stronger than last year’s Sendong. Tropical storm “Sendong” was the most destructive cyclone to hit the Philippines last year with over 1500 dead.

In terms of rainfall and wind strength, Typhoon Bopha has the potential for a bigger impact than Sendong, he said in a telephone interview. “This storm can be very destructive.”

“Unless it changes direction, this storm appears bhopaheaded for the same areas in Northern Mindanao that Sendong hit,” he added.
